Questions and help.

The answers below cover most questions. If yours is not there, send a message and a real person will reply.

When is the app coming out?

It is being built now. iPhone and iPad come first through the App Store, with Android following on Google Play. The home page will show the store links the day they go live.

What can it identify?

At launch, a small set of categories will identify automatically or with a one-tap confirmation, and everything else can be added with help from the camera and finished by hand. How scanning works explains the modes, and the app itself always says how sure it is.

Do you keep my photos?

No. A photo is used to identify the item and then discarded. Nothing is stored on our servers, not even temporarily in a log. The privacy policy says the same in more detail.

Do I need an account?

No. The app works fully on its own, with everything on your phone. An account is there for people who want the same collection on an iPhone and an iPad, or want it to survive a lost phone: sign in with a code we email you (no password) and your records sync; your photos stay on the device. You can sign out or delete the account whenever you like.

Does it work offline?

Yes. Your collection is on your phone, so browsing, searching and manual entry work anywhere. Identifying an item from a photo or looking up a barcode needs a connection; barcodes and text read on the phone itself do not.

How do I get my data out?

Any time, from the app: a spreadsheet file (CSV) of a collection or everything, or a full backup file you can restore on a new phone. Your records are not locked in.

Is the value it shows an appraisal?

No. It is an estimate drawn from a named source on a named date, shown as a range where the data supports it. Your own value and what you paid are kept separately and never overwritten. For insurance or a sale, confirm the value with an appraiser or dealer.
